It is one of the most essential tendons for normal gait. Nature has shaped it to act like a spring by stretching & absorbing heel strike impact when it comes in contact with earth especially when the forefoot strikes during running and sprinting. It also returns energy when heel lifts as we move forward.
The Achilles tendonitis problem can occur when the foot is over- pronated / supinated or some other injury due to various reasons




Solutions:
- Wear shoe with insole as per foot contours to reduce possibility of over- pronation / supination.
Strengthening and stretching exercises, physiotherapy along with proper pathological diagnosis and treatment of Achilles.
Generally Stay Active, stretching, muscle strengthening exercise such as calf raises etc can prevent tight tendons & keep them healthy.
