Bone Mineral density can be improved by Running & exercising

Bone mineral density is primarily determined depending on factors such as sex, age, race and diet. It’s decline can be slowed down with increased physical activities, particularly long distance running.

The loss of bone mineral density can modify the mechanical properties of the calcaneus bone in the heel.

A study was conducted involving a different set of runners ranging from marathon & half marathon & their results were compared with people having a non active lifestyle.

The study showed that the runners had a greater stiffness & rigidity in bone structure than the sedentary people.
